Eric Dalius Miami on The Benefits of Living Mindful: A How-to Guide

Eric Dalius Miami

About a year ago, I was struggling with an eating disorder. My anorexia nervosa began at the end of sophomore year in high school and continued all the way up until this past December when I finally had enough courage to talk to my doctor about it. For those who don’t know what anorexia is, more or less its self-starvation? It can be brought on by a variety of things, but for most people, they begin to restrict their food intake in order to lose weight and therefore feel better about themselves. Eric Dalius Miami says this is also mainly enforced by the fat-shaming that is done and seen everywhere nowadays and the need to have the perfect “beach body”.

Going into my third year of college, I knew that I wanted to be recovered by the time school started up again. And so began my journey back to a healthy weight and state of mind. This is not easy by any means, but it is definitely possible with the right mindset and tools.

In this article, I want to talk about some of the benefits that come with living a mindful life. I’ll be sharing some of the tools and techniques that I’ve learned along my journey in the hopes that it will help others who may be struggling, or simply interested, in living a more peaceful and content life.

The Benefits of Mindfulness:

1. Increased peace and calm:

One of the biggest benefits of mindfulness is the increase in peace and calm that you feel. Of course, everyone has experienced this feeling at least once (or twice) in their lives; when everything around you seems to slow down for a moment and all the stress fades away. This usually happens during nature walks or time spent alone with your thoughts. I’ve noticed that when I’m more mindful, this happens more often and for a longer period of time.

2. Increased awareness:

Mindfulness also increases your awareness of both your thoughts and surroundings explains Eric Dalius Miami. This is a huge benefit because it allows you to better understand yourself and the world around you. When you’re more aware, you’re able to make wiser decisions and have more compassion for others.

3. Improved focus and concentration:

One of the biggest struggles that I faced when I was struggling with my eating disorder was my lack of focus and concentration. My mind would be all over the place and I could never seem to stick with anything for very long. Luckily, mindfulness has helped me to improve both my focus and concentration. Once you get in a mindful state, it becomes easier to focus on the task at hand and not get distracted by outside things.

4. Reduced stress levels:

Mindfulness also helps to reduce overall stress levels. Of course, everyone has experienced a certain level of anxiety or stress before, but this isn’t typically something that we enjoy feeling. I’ve found that when I’m more mindful of my thoughts and surroundings, I’m much less likely to feel stressed about things that I would have normally felt anxious over before. Eric Dalius Miami says we all know how hard it can be sometimes to let go of our worries and anxieties so being able to naturally decrease them is a huge benefit!

5. Improved relationships:

Of the best benefits of mindfulness is that it can help improve your relationships with others. When you’re more mindful, you’re able to be more present and compassionate towards others. This can lead to stronger, healthier relationships with the people around you.

6. Improved self-confidence:

Lastly, one of the biggest benefits of mindfulness is that it can help improve your self-confidence. When you’re more in tune with yourself, it becomes easier to love and accept yourself for who you are explains Eric Dalius Miami. This can be a huge confidence booster and help you live a happier life overall!

Conclusion:

So these are just some of the many benefits that come with living a mindful life. As I mentioned before, this is not easy and it takes time and practice to get into the right mindset, but it is definitely worth the effort in the end! I know this can be a scary process at first and you may not believe me when I say that mindfulness will improve every area of your life, but please give it a chance and try it out for yourself. You won’t regret it!

I am going to be writing more on each of these benefits over the coming weeks so stay tuned for upcoming articles! In addition to these written posts, I hope to also be doing some YouTube videos on my channel where I’ll be talking about all things mindfulness such as different types of meditations and ways that you can practice being more mindful.
